Mark Gallagher is a non-lawyer consultant in Drummond Woodsum’s Government Relations & Campaigns Practice Group. With more than 23 years of experience in the legislative and electoral process, Mark has served at the highest levels in the U.S. House and Senate and has led statewide and congressional campaigns.

Prior to joining Drummond Woodsum, Mark was the State Director for U.S. Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA). Mark led all in-state communications and legislative projects and led Senator Markey’s political and intergovernmental affairs efforts. Mark has also worked on a diverse portfolio of policy issues. Recent areas of focus include energy and the environment, labor and substance use disorder policy.

Mark also managed the successful Ed Markey for Senate campaign in 2014 and was deputy manager for Markey’s special election to the U.S. Senate in 2013. Mark has extensive experience in all aspects of electoral campaigns including communications, finance, compliance, field and political strategy.

In 2010, Mark was presented with the Congressman John Joseph Moakley Award for Exemplary Public Service. This award recognizes the outstanding accomplishments and achievements of a staff member of the New England Congressional delegation in the name of longtime Massachusetts Congressman Joe Moakley.
