In particular, employers should pay particular attention to the increased penalties associated with violations of the Employment Leave for Victims of Violence (26 M.R.S.A. § 850); the new prohibition regarding the use of and access to the personal social media or e-mail accounts of applicants for employment and employees; and how the changes to Maine's concealed handgun law do (or do not) affect the workplace.
